In desperation I have used my people spray (stuff in small green can that
fits in my pommel bag) and it did work and didn't seem to bother the horses.
I have used it when nothing else would work.  I suppose I should get a
bigger can though if I want to use it on the horse!  Also, I have used the
bug bracelets and put them on the horses bridle and on the saddle.... THEY
WORK.  No kidding!  And so do dryer sheets.
