[RC] My thoughts on S to S - Ridecamp Guest

My very first thought is that the person
who complained about warm orange slices
on a competetive ride I held a few years
back should do just one day of a ride out
of the northeast! I was told water was an
issue at this ride but assumed it meant
on the trail not that there wasn't any
at some of the holds. Now maybe if you're
on a desert bred Arabian it ain't a concern.
But Morgans require water and LOTS of it.
(Just ask Cindys husband who mistakely
only had 2 5 gallon buckets at the end of
the 1st day). For 2 horses yet! As the
saying goes when life hands you lemons
make lemonade. It was a lot of work on
my husband gathering water(maybe that's
why they call these pioneer events?).
Cindys husband had just as much work
hooking up and moving rigs daily. We did
let them stop at Cabelos coming and going
in order to somewhat repay them. And of
course we both finished which is a plus.
As far as I'm concerned it was an honor
to particpate in this ride and to meet
Barney Fleming too! I want to thank all
the help and Wayne for holding this ride
which has always been a dream of mine to
do. This was the hardest thing I've ever
accomplished and I'm very proud of Hawk
who looks none the worse for wear! mary
