    I disagree about the free horses. I have two beautiful Arab geldings that were free and have turned out to be excellent athletes. My 8 year old gelding who I acquired at  age 3 now has 2000 endurance miles and is top mileage horse in the South East. My other gelding is a beautiful chestnut who is 7 and I acquired him just before his 5th birthday and he has over 500 endurance miles and lots of potential, he is still growing and is 15.1+ hands at this time and a joy to ride.
    So don't disqualify the freebies till you go and take a good look, sometimes you may get lucky like I did.
