Quoted from Colleen Jones's message:
I also would like some shoeing advice. He has just a regular plain shoe
that isn't fully grooved. He slips on pavement and we don't feel real
secure. What changes should I make?
I'm not being facetious when I say the main change you should make is to
stop riding on pavement. There aren't very many paved parts of endurance
rides and an endurance horse needs to be able to slide the hoof a bit when
going down the (non-paved) trail. Shoeing to prevent slippage on pavement
could ultimately lead to joint problems in an endurance horse.
