If you dosed the liquid correctly (1 ml per 110 lbs) you delivered the same
amount of actual ivermectin with the 1% liquid that you did with the higher
concentration paste, likewise dosed correctly. The volume in the directions
is calculated to deliver the right amount of ivermectin in each case.
Whether you should deworm more often depends entirely on your horse's
circumstances and potential for reinfestation--which varies according to
horse density, the horse's past worming history and worm load, and time of
year. The more horses per less space, the more potential for
recontamination. If a horse does not have a good deworming history, you
have more potential for an existing worm load and reinfestation. Spring and
summer, the worms are more active and you have more potential for
reinfestation.
