Ridecamp: [RC] Help, New Horse... Need Some Hints!

OK, here it goes.  I have been on the search for an endurance horse.  WELL, 
the JUNK I have seen.  I had $2000 Cnd to spend on a horse, and most of what 
I looked at were NOT worth that much.  SO, Im now fustrated and tired of 
looking.  SO we call about this 6 yr old standerdbred mare, Green Broke, 
15.2hh, off the track for 1 yr.  So we call her.  The owner is going to away 
till septermber 1 at a job and want the horse gone now as to the fact that 
she is moving as well(she works on the race track)  So, she offers to let me 
free lease this mare form as of yesterday, to september 1.  Well, She seemed 
to go good at the owners place.  She does NOT canter.. only trots and 
paces(AWESOMELY THOUGH)  She had a resting pulse rate of 36, and after 
working for 40 mins at trotting and walking(she is out of shape) she came 
down RIGHT away to 44.  So, I LIKED HER, so I loaded her up...(she has only 
been loaded a few times, and they always tranqued her) She reared and bucked 
in our little 2 horse trailer, my mom is having a nervous breakdown and then 
FINALLY she calms down.  So, we get her home, and she is scared to go in the 
barn, now the owner did say she was locked in a stall for 10 month withough 
getting out, so I can undertand the fear.  She settles in like a pro.... So 
this morning I head over and she is already out... and look content.  The 
she spooks.... AT THE COWS!!!!! she is petrified of them.  Well, LUCKY me, I 
live in Cattle Capital.  On athe road I board her on there is cows all the 
way, i guesstimate, close to 800 cows on just our street.  So, great.....  I 
take her into the ring(the owner said she does not really like the ring.  I 
take her in there and let her run around to get used to it....But there are 
still cows everywhere in her veiw.  So I catch her and walk her around the 
outside.  Now I know most horses on the track do not get treated that 
nice....  SO I sorta understand why she did this, but still....... It made 
me(an experinced horse person who has worked on the track before) Neverous.  
We came along the backside and we about about 1 acer away from the cows, 
well she decides, not a fat chance lady, im not walking here.  So she pins 
her ears, bites at me, and the tries to gallop away.  Well, im like, 
WHATEVER.... I don't think so, you your gonna stand here and LOOK at them.  
So she Does this little rear at me and tries to attimidate me.... BUT I 
win.....but I tell you, I wanted to pee myself... And that is strange for 
me, because usually, I just brush it off.....  SO then I lunge her and she 
get better and better in the ring....fewf....  She got hot fast though.... 
like i said, out of shape.  SO, I walk her to the end of the driveway to 
cool her off, she was great for the cars going by, but then a Big truck goes 
buy(dairyland milk truck) and she bolts right into me, whinnys and tries to 
take off again..... Im like.... NO WAY.... you get to HANG out with me.....  
Im sure now her pulse rate is like 300(Just kidding)  So a few more big 
trucks go buy(and man, they usually never come down this rd, just because im 
here and my horse is scared sh*tless)  SO then I walk her back and put her 
away.  SO, my needing of help is.... How do i get her not to be afaid of 
cows and BIG trucks.  Yes, she is still a baby in my books.... but I will 
never get to ride out on her if i cant get past the cows.  Big trucks, well, 
i would just ride down someones driveway, but there are cows everywere you 
look.  And I would just put her in with some cows to get her used to them, 
but NO ONE will do that with there dairy cows here... GRRRRRR.......  Help 
anyone????
