RE: Orchard vs. Bermuda Hay
In my experience, orchard grass seems to be preferred by horses over most
grass hays as long as it isn't over mature and has be cured and baled right.
If too mature (besides having a lower nutritional value) the stems become
very coarse. Orchard grass has a wide, "soft" leaf and lots of leaf but it
should be cut before it's developed mature seed heads.
