winter riding boots
I have found several styles of boots to work for winter riding.
The Ariet Extreme are nice for arena work. They keep your feet
warm and fit in the stirups of any saddle just fine. Living in
the midwest the temps can go from one extreme to the next as
well as cold dry snow to cold wet snow. I do have oversized
stirups on all my saddles so I can wear the sorels for outside
riding....the "mountain horse" boots are nice too and they fit
stirups better than sorels. The best thing I found for keeping
the toes warm tho' can be found in the hunting section of Fleet
Farm. (any hunting type store or farm store)..they are those
neat little toe warmers!!!! the hunters use!!! These are the
neatest little things around. They are activated when they are
exposed to the air ....there is adhesive on one side to attach
on the bottom of your socks and they keep your toes toasty for
hours!!!! (and I do mean hours; I have been outside for up to 4
hours and they are still warm.) .
Still waiting for snow in the soggy midwest.
