Re: Dogs
I have taken my dog (a still maturing lab-mix) to rides when I'm crewing for
another rider. (Once took him along when I had my own horse in camp and
would not do that again.) He's gone to ride meetings, on leash of course.
At away vet checks, he's tied on a line to the truck's rear view mirror.
Spends his time (when horses are at the check) under the truck. Never have
to worry that he'd mess with a passing horse because my gelding has him well
trained (translate as 'intimidated'). People who approach him are only in
danger of being smothered with kisses.
Seems such a shame that all dogs would be banned from rides, ride meetings,
vet checks, etc. because a few people are inconsiderate. Is it impossible
to just deal with the offenders and leave everybody else alone?
