Water
I have a question. I have 2 new boarders that we're working to get
weight on (former boarding place nearly starved them!). It's been
raining buckets the past 2 weeks and I had to move them to the round pen
as their pen went under water. I put two muck buckets in there and I'm
refilling them almost 3 times a day. When I commented to the owner that
their horses sure drink a lot, she got all upset. She asked me to
restrict their water intake to 5 gallons each so that they wouldn't
colic. Now, I have never heard of a horse colicking from too much water
and isn't drinking a lot a good thing? This is SE Tx and it is very hot
and humid.
