Re: Trail Riding Safety/watering horses



When I first started becoming interested in endurance (30+ years ago), a
noted rider of that time told me, "You are in far greater danger of
dehydrating your horse than you are of causing founder."  That was in answer
to my question regarding watering a hot horse.  When I was growing up, it
was believed that you NEVER watered a horse until he had cooled off or he
would founder.
