Re: Cold ride questions
The only time I have ever seen any of our horses shiver from the cold was a
few winters ago when the temperature, (not wind chill) but actually
temperature hit -40 below 0 F. I started hauling them down warm water from
the house and that helped a lot.
As far as cold weather, nothing beats wool to keep you warm. The army
surplus stores have a variety of cold weather wear and blankets. The wool is
comfortable. I even have wool long johns that I got from the Army surplus
store. I can't imagine silk ones keeping you warm. But them I have never
tried them.
