There is the "annual meeting" and there is the "convention." They are held
at the same time, and the same place, but they are not the same thing.
Bob, I agree that the annual meeting is a VERY important event, and that more
people should attend and pay attention. But the "convention" is not an
integral part of the "meeting" and it has its own function--which is to
benefit the members by giving them opportunity to hear speakers, see new
products in the trade show, etc. It's great to have the two together, as the
"convention" helps to attract people to the "meeting." But let's not confuse
the two.
