riding tights

Hi all!

I'm just getting started in distance riding.  Once my broken elbow heals
(yes, fell off my horse) I hope to do a 25 miler late this fall.

Thought I should start looking into what people are wearing for the serious
events as in the last 15 miler I was on (a month ago) I started getting
chapped by my jeans.

What do y'all wear?  What brands of tights?  Half chaps over those?

I'm in Texas, so heat and humidity are definatly an issue.
