KJ Vortex Recovered in Good Condition

The horse ridden by Denise Thornton, KJ Vortex, was located late
yesterday on a ledge about a mile below Deadwood, about 100 ft from the
Western States (Tevis) trail. 

Dale Peterson and Steve Elliot conducted the successful search and were
able to get a message out via HAM radio.  A trailer was brought in and
the horse was taken to a local ranch, where is was reunited with its
rider.
