A-Horses

Ellen Tully et-albert@msn.com
For the sake of this conversation one must consider the mileage involved. I'm a type "A" personality. I disliked Arabs; thought my temperment would never tolerate them. I have cared for many and now own three. I look forward to owning more in time.

What this sport and Arabs have done for me is to lower my anxiety level, to temper me, while around them and competing. Displaying less "A" type and more "B" in order to go the long haul of 50 and 100 mile rides. I feel my type A friends involved in the sport do the same, even if only on and off. This sport "paces" us mentally, emotionally, and physically.

'Wired' horses have taught to controll my impulses. Try dealing with TBs. Horses pick up on our energy just as we respond to theirs. A type A personality could end up getting hurt if they didn't temper their ways. Our horses will only tolerate so much. They are great teachers if we are receptive students.
