Oops, my jumping background emerges again. It's when you jump a horse over
a fence and lift the top pole and hit the front of the horse's legs with it
(no boots on the horse, of course) so that the horse will "snatch up" his
legs next time he jumps. Course, if the horse elects to stop at the next
fence instead, the rider must beat the living crap out of it - not
acceptable for the horse to balk at being taken off at the knee-caps!
