Because, unknown to humans, crocodiles hide in long, narrow streams of
water, not in creeks (something to do with being cold-blooded).  Oh, and did
I mention that these crocodiles have lots of piranha and shark friends, and
that they're all visible only to the equine eye.

I have a similar theory regarding tree stumps and evil gnomes, but that's
for a later post.
