Re: RC: more shoeing questions

Okay, as one of the few people I've seen using eboots for an entire ride
in the SE (where you have to explain to even experienced ride vets why
you have them on and what that stuff is that looks like caulk sticking
out) I have to chime in...I've used them for many, many, many training
rides and a few rides (50 milers) all the way thru and on other rides
for just certain loops. I can cut them down and put them on (foam
included) in my sleep - I am no stranger to e-boots.

I am the first one to extoll the virtues of an eboot- I *love* them for
all the reasons Karen does BUT in the SE we seem to have more mud, red
clay and wet grass than we do pavement, rocks, and deep sand.

I (and the horse I was riding <g>) have gone down, all the way down,
twice because the boots hit some wet grass and have had several other
slips in mud or grass where I drew leather off the saddle with my cheeks
:) - we can't just "throw on easyboots and go" down here - the terrain
isn't as well suited for them as it is in other parts of the country.
