Re: Need rain gear suggestions
I won't claim to be an expert but I work in the film industry and we have
to work regardless of the weather. A good and not too expensive rain gear
suit is a Helly Hansen, ( I have worn these is pouring down rain at work for
about 5 hours and everything underneath was dry) they offer pants and a
jacket that will pack away and you should still be able to ride with the
pants on.. I wear mine over polarfleece in moderate temps. in extremely
cold rain I wear The North Face gear, it is water proof and warm to
about -40. You can find all of these at a web page called gear.com they
offer good deals, since some of these things can get pricey. Another good
rain suit comes from Marmot but very pricey. Also the good thing about the
pants, they have snaps up the side for ease in putting them on and off over
your regular clothes. As for gloves I believe The North Face makes those
also in gore-tex.
