The problems at the Pan Ams were under human control as some team vets
delayed treatment of the horses in order to try to enable them to
continue the race. The vet right across from us was extremely bad and
delayed a couple horses for about an hour until they could no longer
stand. Both ended up on IVs and I believe one had to be sent into the
hospital for treatment. And that team was not alone. There was lots of
stuff being done to get the horses through those checks.
