Karen, thanks for clarifying the accident from the Posse Ride.  I have been 
in a similar situation myself racing in, only to come around a turn near the 
finish and find a vehicle blocking the road.  Fortunately there were no 
pedestrians in the way, and fortunately neither of us ended up somersaulting 
into the back of the offending pickup truck.  Riders DO have to be 
responsible for their actions, but it is also a responsibility of management 
to see to it that there is a clear area for racing to the finish.
