Re: Endurance???
Dear Rebecca,
Jeeze, why draw the line at 10 miles? Then you are cutting out the
people who can only manage 9 miles. And heck, what about the people who only
want to go 5? What about the person who only wants to do ONE mile? Don't
want that person to feel bad either do we? In fact, why shouldn't just being
able to saddle the horse qualify one as an "endurance rider?" Oh, but wait,
you know, some people can't even saddle a horse correctly, but gosh, they
still love horses and all, and they'd LOVE to be able to tell their friends
they are an "endurance rider." Why not just let ANYONE who wants to call
themselves an endurance rider, do so, and then, no one's feelings need ever be
hurt.
Don't you see the slippery slope lying dead smack in front of your "feel
good" philosophy?

<< I think any body doing more than 10 miles can consider it an endurance
ride. Others might think that it is not endurance but to the person that
can't do anymore than that, Why take the glory away from them!! They are
not compeating with the 50 or 100 mileres, so why make them feel like
they are not doing distance. Distance does not have a definet answer.
So why not let the person that goes out and does 10 miles be called a
distance rider if it helps to make them feel better about the ride that
they think is out-standing!! >>
