FEI gated holds

A question.. Does anyone know the official FEI rules for how many gated
holds there should be in a 100 miler?? For example is it set out that their
should be one at every so many miles or that there should be so much
compulsory hold time per ride length or time. If there is such rules what
are the reasons given, if any?Any one willing to tackle this one?
