You can also put big rocks in the pellets to keep them from taking such
huge mouthfuls. Same as you would for grain gulpers! If they choke, as
one of mine did, the vet told me to elevate the head and DO NOT try to
get water down their throat. If your horse does choke and then seem to
recover, you should still have the vet check him out to be sure there is
no remaining obstruction.
