[endurance] No World Equestrian Games 1998 - Ireland?

Reading through our national equestrian sports magazine "Hoefslag" there
was in last week's issue a short note on Ireland giving back the
organisation of the 1998 World Equestrian Games.

They are afraid of a financial disaster (see The Hague 1994) and the
angryness of tax payers as Government had agreed on paying quite a lot of
money and also willing to compensate if revenues and costs do not match.
It seems that sponsorships and TV-rights don't bring too much money at this
moment yet.

Wonder where we will be going in 1998?!
