[RC] saddle fit for low-withered horse - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Karen Gardella billnkaren@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I was hoping that some of you out there may be able to give me some advice on helping to solve my saddle fit problem on a new mare that I purchased. The mare is stocky, slightly high behind (in the rump) with lower withers. I have tried some saddles that fit her width-wise, but they always seem to creep up her withers, even with working her just on the flats. Her previous owner said that she had used an Orthoflex cutback on her with a crupper without any problems. I have tried an Orthoflex but it still seems to creep up her withers. I hate to rely on a crupper to keep the saddle in place, but at this point I don't know what else to try. I don't have much experience with using cruppers. I have seen ads on Brown's CorrecTor pad which claims to keep saddles in place, even on the downhills, but have not found anyone that has tried it. Has anyone on Ridecamp know of anyone that has success with the CorrecTor pad or even tried one? Also, I've been told that ofter treeless saddles can work good on horses with lower withers. Is there anyone out there that has a horse with similiar problem that has found anything that helps. Any advice or input would be much appreciated!
