[RC] One Rein Stop - mkrumlawThe purpose of the one rein stop is to disengage the hind quarters so the horse has to stop. It's not just about turning the head to one side and touching his sides. I've had several horses that can continue at a full gallop with their heads bent around the body. When asking for the one rein stop the horses head and neck should bend/flex in towards his side but at the same time his hind quarters should take a step over to disengage.
