[RC] Forward seat/Parelli - Kristi Schaaf

I'm become a Parelli-ite and will say that the way
Linda Parelli teaches us to use our seat (she calls it
riding with fluidity) has been a positive for me. For
the first time, I have the balance at the right point
so I can even ride my horse bareback at a working
trot. I think some of us distance riders get in the
habit of 'perching' up on our thighs with our backs
arched...it's been weird changing my position to a
more 'cowboy' seat, but my horse sure seems to prefer
it. As Linda P. describes it, ride like a cowboy with
your bottom half (pelvis kinda 'slouched', and like an
english rider (more upright) with your top half. I
haven't wrapped my mind around yet how/if I should
ride like this for any distance, but will hopefully
find that out at a fluidity clinic I'm attending this
summer.
Kristi

Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off)
