I am not saying this to shoot down your theory -
but thought it was interesting that it was the opposite or me. I rode a gray
Arab mare as a kid for a few months, but gray is my least favorite color now. I
rode a palomino at my grandparents farm but since I am a PB Arab fan, that is
out now too. Oddly, I like bay the best, which is weird because I usually shy
away from most "mainstream" stuff. I have a dark 'not quite black' bay gelding
with 4 white feet and a white stripe [not blaze!] that looks like a shooting
star and a regular bay mare with barely even a snip on her forehead. They are
the most beautiful horses ever!

PS: My recent horse acquaintances had convinced
me mares were horrible, until I rode the one that was to be mine. Yes, she was
horrible and still can be, but damn that girl has guts - what I call ~~~MARE
POWER~~~.
I like bays, myself. And I've got this
theory - your favorite horse color tends to be the color of your first
horse. The horse that you first spent all that time on, especially if
you got started as a kid.
So, those of you who have a preference, is that the color
that your first horse was?
Yup, mine was a bay mare (with a star). I like mares
too....
