Re: [RC] Surgar in Beet Pulp/ Laminitis Scare - heidi

You sound like every other equine prognosticator, scare the hell
out of them first then explain it's just very few horses that are
affected..

    Jaye

I thought she made it clear that her recommendation was for a select
group of equines - more than once in her narrative. Give the readers
some credit to make their own conclusions without fear.

She also made it exceedingly clear that this was likely a rarity and that
she was looking into this further.

We-the-endurance-public are not so stupid as to think that this was a
scare tactic. Rather, it was an admission of an anomaly that needs to be
looked into further. Personally, I appreciate the honesty.

And Jaye, it is an insult to our intelligence to insinuate that in light
of Susan's honesty about finding this odd batch of beet pulp, we would all
run screaming to the feed room to flush our beet pulp down the toilet in
fear. We are capable of taking it for what it was worth--a report of an
odd finding, which has not yet been quantified, and is under further
review.

Heidi (far from scared by Susan's post--and in fact went out afterward and
fed the same old beet pulp to the three on the place that get it, just
like every other day... As I suspect most on the list did.)
