[RC] Need teammate and horse for RAT - steve shawThis came to me through the RAT Association and I thought I would pass it on...if you have a horse but don't want to get out there yourself, you may have a freind or crew that would.... sTeve: Hello All - I am seeking a partner with horse since my work schedule for the week of the Championships is shaping up to look like hauling my horse up will be a lot more of an endurance test than doing the race itself !!! I have have done 95-100 R&T's, including five 100-milers, with no vet-outs (only one DNF due to a deathly ill partner) in the past 15 years. I've also done nearly 6000 AERC miles in 30 years of endurance riding. As a runner, I am admittedly rather slow but do quite a bit of trail running and am in good enough condition to have done several road races, up to a half-marathon, this year. And finally, I have a 34" inseam and can provide double stirrups, if necessary. I've successfully teamed up with lots of different people and horses over the years; my only real requirements are a person that won't quit or lose their sense of humor and a horse that's reasonably safe and sane. Please let me know if you know of someone who might be interested in teaming up with a veteran partner. I will be up at Euer Valley on 08/31/2003-09/01/2003 then will be coming up Fri evening before the race. Sincerely, Ellen M.
