Do I need to do anything further? (like manually delete

Yes - you do need to download the patch.  getting rid of 
this latest virus doesn't mean  you have seen the last of it 
from my understanding of the writeup.

It's one that is not carried by email.  Just connection to 
the internet without downloading any mail is sufficient to 
get it.

The patch from MS closes off the places(ports) where the 
outside system looks to deliver the worm.

I'm not an expert on this - this is from reading the 
antivirus company descriptions of the fix and how the worm 
works.
