[RC] Long shirts for cool riding/ skin protection - Jonni Jewell

I agree, for dry areas, like California rides, those long sleeved cotton
shirts worked well. Cheap on sale in some department stores, Target,
Wal-Mart, or indeed, thrift stores. I have always worn white, but it seems I
remember Jeff Herdon mentioning during the XP2001, that blue kept out more
of the harmful rays that white did. Maybe Jeff or Deby can explain more on
this. I am also thinking of trimming the bottom off my shirts some, as they
have very long tails, and I sit on them when riding. Easy enough to trim and
hem.

I buy them much larger than I need, to make them loose fitting. If you are
in a humid area, there are many Coolmax type fabrics to chose from.
