Re: [RC] Husband/Wife Award - Heidi SmithI have been trying to get this ridiculous mileage restriction changed for years. This mileage arrangement was done in an emotional over-reaction to a husband who did a single 50 mi. race right at the end of the season (many years ago) & that 50 coupled with his wife's high mileage won them the Husband & Wife award. Darolyn, in all fairness, I don't think the BoD's action at the time was an "emotional overreaction" but more accurately a way to ensure that husbands and wives who truly both rode would not have their recognition usurped by a stunt such as the one that was pulled that year. And it was never the intent to DQ couples where one had less mileage than the percentage, but rather to ensure that those who DID both ride would have the advantage over those where one partner does most of the riding.
