Re: [RC] [RC] Oral HA vs Oral GLucosamine - Shelley Kerr
Has anyone tried stretching? We had our first equine expo last
fall. It was great. A clinician was here on horse
stretching. You can find his site by typing in horse stretching on a
search engine. It was incredible. I've been starting to use it
on my horses. An trying to do more stretching for myself. I
get lazy, so I'm better with my horses than me. ;-)
About a month ago - during the 'flex' discussions, I
addressed a new product. The oral HA product called Conquer. I asked if
it really worked. I ran a self-test on me. I stopped the
supplementation of the GLu HCl which I indicated provided very good
results with joint therapy for me.
I went off any flex joint
supplement for one week until I noted a change in how I felt joint
wise.
I started taking 5 mg of Conquer. each day. After a week I
noted NO MAJOR improvement. In fact I do believe I was getting less
joint flexion and there was some constant pain. I increased to 10 mg
per day ( 5mg 2x). There 'may' have been some effect, but not enough
reduce the pain nor provide for ease of joint movement.
After 2
weeks I gave up on the test. I switched back to Glu HCL and within 3
days a I noted a difference. I also added the dose of MSN back to my
protocol.
My one 'rat' test conclusion is Oral HA dose NOT work.
Now all subjects are different and results may vary. I also have put
my horses that were under the HA supplementation back on GLU
HCL.
I will now begin a test of GLU-Sulfate. It is reported the
sulfate will offer better results.
There are other oral HA
supplements on the market. I will also test a few of them. Roger
