The park I started this thread about is amazing - beautifully maintained trails on varied terrain with ample water and gorgeous views and forests, electric camp sites and modern shower houses, I could go on and on. It will be a shame if the "endurance world" misses out on using such a fantastic park because the riders won't come unless they can have free rein to tie/corral their horses wherever they feel. Our DNR is quite focused on land conservation and protecting resources. Truman is so right that you're going to see more and more land managers have that focus, which, at least in our case, includes the land in the campground.
