Re: [RC] White hairs on body - OT - Heidi SmithI have a 26 month old dark bay Arab colt who has some white hairs on his sides starting behind his elbow, where the hairs change direction (flank) and some on his haunches. They don't extend as far as the top of the back and the hairs are evenly spaced - not clumped together and not spots. There are no white hairs on his head, face, neck or legs. <snip> I'm totally baffled about this! He's just starting to roan. It is a perfectly normal and common occurrence and is an inherited trait in some lines of Arabs. It is less commonly expressed in bays than in chestnuts, but does indeed happen in bays occasionally as well.
