LOVED your story as I too have been there done that!!Rode and completed the first StoS in 1985 and went back in '86 on same mare and won it..WHAT A HIGH!!!And wouldn't it be neat if the trail was straight? This trail was layed out by the Michigan Trail Riders Assc. in the '50s with some changes over the years. I always wondered what they were drinking when they made the trail ;o). I live an hour from the middle of the trail so consider myself lucky to be able to trailer up anytime to ride.
I have been in the sport since '77 and consider the Shore to Shore my best memory in distance riding. Hope you come back:o)
