My concern is that any rule
that we already have, or that we may have in the future, is not set up in a way
that can leave a door open for abuse by a sanctioning director, or
anyone in position of decision making authority, for their own personal gain.
That we the riders and paying members, are the ultimate decision
maker as to what rides we want to do, and that we have the opportunity to freely
make that decision. With which rides, Ride Managers, or Vets we ride.
Preferably with out veiled threats or pitiful attempts of intimidation,
which will never work. At least not with me. In an earlier post I
suggested that sanctioning directors should not be RM's. I do understand
that may not be very practical, given the size of the BOD now. And that most
RM's and RD's are people of integrity. However, it is the appearance of so much
impropriority and conflict of interest, and infighting, that has led not
only myself but others, to feel that certain things need to be
questioned. And question we should! Anyone that takes issue with
routing out the facts of an issue, or being questioned about their motives and
possible conflicts of interest is highly suspect in my book. So my message
to everyone on the current BOD is that if you think you may not like the
questions that will come later, think about how you conduct yourself
now. I appreciate all the hard work, and can only imagine the
difficulty of your job. Good Luck next week.
