Then there was the time a group of us (four or five) were training in the
Wekiva River State Park near Orlando, and we came upon this guy in fatiques
slumped over on the ground with his back to a tree. Honest to God, he looked
dead. We rode up to him and kept yelling "mister, mister, are you OK????" By
then were were pretty much getting panicked, and one of the girls jumped off
her horse and started shaking him; all the while still yelling if he was OK.
No luck- now we were really getting scared. I had the fastest horse, so I
volunteered to take off at a mad gallop to find the ranger. Just as I was
putting heel to my trusty steed, the guy woke up and said "SSSHHH! I am on
manuevers with the Army Reserve and they are trying to track and "rescue" me
as an injured person!" ( you wanna talk about crapping your best riding
breeches!!) After thoroughly cussing him out for letting us believe he was
dead for so long, we didn't stop talking about that one for months!
Still laughing in Florida...
