Ridecamp: [RC] Knee Surgery

Hi everyone!
I had my knee surgery Friday morning and all went well. It took almost
two hours, which I guess is a long time. It took much less for my moms
complete knee replacement!
The doctor said the major problem was the knee joint arthritis and it
was "shredded" in many areas. He also said it was much like a knife blade
on some of the edges. 
Today I am trying to do without any pain pills and without crutches. I've 
found
that the original pain is completely gone and now it's just the pain from 
surgery
and the two incisions. I have spent time with ice for the swelling, and it 
swelled
quite a bit! I used the crutches to help walk more naturally so my calf and 
thigh
muscles wouldn't get too sore. I managed to get on my horse and just walk 
around
a bit yesterday...for my mental state ;-)
I made a BIG mistake and kneeled on it to get out a pan and WOW, did that 
hurt!!
And WOW, was that a stupid thing for me to do!!!
According to the doctor, I won't need this done again for the arthritis. But, 
I've spoke
to several people who have it done every four or five years for the knee cap 
arthritis.
Is anyone familiar with this issue? I certainly don't want to end up where I 
was if I 
can help it.
