[RC] Crooked riding - Ridecamp Guest

I discovered the best way to tell if you are riding crooked: ride bareback! Or at least without stirrups. I was AMAZED how
off-kilter I found my self the first time I dropped my stirrups (had just resumed riding after amny, many years off): I flet fine with stittrups, and like I was about to fall off when I droppped them. It really magnifies any imbalances.
I've decided to do more bare-back nowm try to regain the seat I had as a kid when I rode bareback all the time.
"Before you spend money on the side ways problem. Make sure the problem isn't you. As others have said, it is very easy to ride
crooked and not know it. I had the problem after an eight year
lay off, and it took me 'forever' to figure out the problem. I still have to check myself, and have more trouble when we are having to do a lot of walking on technical trail (tension). I
collapse my left hip, and put too much pressure in my right stirrup, thus my saddle goes off to the right. It is an awful feeling. I've finally found that if I make sure both seat bones are equal in the saddle, then my saddle stays
straight. My right seat bone was not down at all.
Check yourself and see if that could be the problem you are having as well. Lots cheaper than trying endless saddles and pads $$$$$$$.
Good luck,
Jan"
