One time a rider came on a couple of pleasure riders. This rider was just going
for completion, had plenty of time and was not in a hurry. The pleasure riders
started asking him questions about the sport and he walked along answering their
questions and telling them where they could get additional information. Yep, they
went to the FHA distance clinic that fall and the  next year they were out doing
some endurance riding. He probably spent 10 minutes or so talking with them and
then rode on off.

Now if that is against any rule, change the rule.
