There has been some research on this (in horses, yet) looking at heat
absorption and radiation in grey-with-black-skinned horses versus
black-with-black-skinned horses.
Grey/white haired horses do not absorb heat as rapidly (they reflect more),
but also do not radiate it as rapidly. Black/dark haired horses absorb heat
faster, but also radiate it faster.
