Re: RC: Re: RE: worlds youngest rider

Monty Roberts WON the junior stock horse class at the age of 4. He grew up
around horses and had been riding them since he was an infant. The child at
the ride on Saturday has also grown up around horses. His family has been
riding horses for several generations. I was at the ride on Saturday, the
child was happy and he was extremely proud of himself. In the old west,
children started riding horses very early. Children were given
responsibilities and had to be tough maybe that is what is wrong with the
young generation today, they have never been challenged. Remember, all
junior riders must accompany an adult rider. This adult rider, his dad rode
100 miles age 5 I believe this 3 year-old will probably grow up tough with
high self esteem. He already has a large advantage over the WHIMPY children
he will be going to school with who have never had the chance to accomplish
anything because of mother's who are too cautious.. All children are
different, if a child wants to ride and is supervised THEN LET THEM!!!!!
If you were there and saw Cliffy with the big happy grin you would have seen
what accomplishment can do. His completion award was a tee shirt which was
around his ankles when he put it on, and that's how he strutted around camp.
