2024 Spanish Peaks Pioneer - August 17-21

Three True Grit Champions of the 5-day, 255-mile Spanish Peaks Endurance ride in southern Colorado!

Who does this anymore, 5 days on the same horse!

The Spanish Peaks Pioneer is August 17-21, 2024. Ride camp opens Tuesday. Location: SoCo Endurance Spanish Peaks Ride Camp. Five days of riding, (Saturday – Wednesday) with fun/intro rides, LDs & 50s all days. The first day offers a 55-mile option for any horse-rider teams going for a “pioneer,” riding days 1-2-3 on the same horse. We are very excited to be hosting the SoCo Limited Distance Championship, as well as offering Fun/Unsanctioned Ride & Tie, Equathon, and Dog’n Pony Show entries daily during this event as well! We’re all about having good healthy fun, so we are happy to allow these fun entries on our trails.

We will kick off this event on FRIDAY at NOON with our traditional Whole Hog Hootenanny, with live music. Get registered and vet in and enjoy the feast and festivities till the ride meeting at 6pm. For those coming for the whole event (Spanish Peaks Pioneer + Wahatoya Cup,) Thursday is our day of rest, and then vet-in for the Wahatoya Cup will be Friday the 23rd (see below for more WC details.)

Start times LDs-7:30am, 50s-7:00am, Fun rides start after 8am and are totally flexible.

SoCo Limited Distance Championship

The SoCo Limited Distance Championship is August 17-21, 2023. This 5-day LD challenge will be held just like any other pioneer endurance ride except that you ride the LD each day. The horse and rider team, (1 horse, 1 rider,) must complete all 5 days of LDs.
