July 20 It's been crazy whirlwind busy since City of Rocks. Garden, yard, horses, (work), fiddle, summer... Mom fell soon after we finished with the ride. Mom and Dad live in Virginia Beach (where I grew up) - and have lived in the same house for 52 years. They've had people coming to the house for the last several years, helping them with meals, cleaning, getting around. But after Mom fell (and fractured a vertebra) - she cycled through hospital and rehab, and needed too much care for them to stay at home. So we worked out a spot at an assisted living facility, near their home, and helped them move in. It was intense, sad, busy, emotional. We gave it our all. Mom is still having problems, hopefully they'll be able to settle in to the next few years together. I've been home a week or so now, getting caught up (never!) and enjoying the summer, but it's going by too fast!
