horses tied to trailers at night
April,
If you're worried about Apache getting a foot caught, break him to
hobbles so he learns not to panic. I had a mare that would destroy
anything including herself if she got wound up. I swore I'd never deal
with that again! Fortunately, Akela doesn't care; he figures it's my
job to fix it if he gets tangled up and will wait for me to do so. I
tie him long enough he can lay down and move around. I'd never use a
portable corral. I, too, have seen too many loose horses and I know
that if Akela wanted out he'd leave. He has a high pain tolerance and
knows it only zaps for a minute! (he's proven this at home).
