Ambling along

Hi all --  Just to confuse matters more, I've always thought ambling was
more of a dog-trot type gait, a more relaxed way of going.  Buddy has a gear
between walk and trot that  is much smoother than a jog, more of a shuffle.
Maybe he's ''shambling''?
